"Multimedia Projects for Kid Pix conveys a sense of optimism and excitement about the projects without going overboard. It gives kids the feeling that while the projects are fun in themselves, in the end, it¹s about what they do and what they create."

Grades 1-6

Students create multimedia projects with the help of step-by-step directions in this 120 page book, Multimedia Projects for Kid Pix. The projects highlight the use of sound and graphics to create multimedia presentations. The easy to follow directions are written for elementary students of all levels. Included with the Multimedia Projects for Kid Pix book is a CD-ROM containing hundreds of sound and music clips which can be easily imported into the Kid Pix projects. The CD-ROM also contains examples of all the projects and slide shows so that teachers have colorful examples to use as motivation and reinforcement. Projects are cross-curricular and based on current classroom curriculum. Some examples of projects are:

  • Students create slide shows of state license plates which helps them learn state nicknames, major geographic areas, capitals, and products.
  • They write and illustrate a creative tale and put it in a slide show with music and sound effects.
  • Following step-by-step directions, students create a 3-D zoo with movable animals.
  • They make a multimedia commercial.
  • Many more projects on all ability levels are included.
